What AI search visibility requires that Semrush was not built for

AI search requires fundamentally different measurement and optimization capabilities.

Brand mention tracking in AI-generated answers — Semrush tracks keyword rankings. AI search requires tracking whether your brand *name* appears in AI-generated answers — not rankings, but mentions in synthesized responses. These are different data points requiring different infrastructure.
