How does TrueCite detect competitors in AI responses?

TrueCite's analyzer scans each AI engine response for competitor brand names. When a competitor is mentioned in an AI answer alongside or instead of your brand, it is recorded. Over time this builds a share-of-voice picture showing which competitors AI engines prefer in your category.

Can I track competitors I did not manually add?

Yes. TrueCite automatically detects new competitors that appear in AI responses and surfaces them as suggestions. You can approve them with one click to add them to your tracked competitor list, or dismiss them if they are not relevant.

How many competitors can I track?

Trial plans support 2 competitors, Lite supports 3, Starter supports 20, Pro supports 200, and Enterprise supports 500. Competitors detected automatically by TrueCite do not count against your limit until you approve them.

What is share-of-voice in the context of AI engines?

Share-of-voice measures what percentage of AI responses in your category mention your brand versus your competitors. If ChatGPT mentions your brand in 30 out of 100 responses but mentions a competitor in 60 out of 100, that competitor has twice your AI share-of-voice for those queries.
