Writing effective prompts
The quality of your prompts determines the quality of your MentionShare data. Bad prompts = misleading results.
What makes a good prompt
Good prompts mirror exactly what your ideal buyers type into AI engines. They are specific, buyer-intent questions — not broad keyword searches.
✓ Good prompts
“What is the best screen recording tool for B2B sales teams?”
“What CRM do fast-growing SaaS startups use?”
“Best project management software for remote engineering teams”
“What tools do marketing agencies use for client reporting?”
✗ Bad prompts
“screen recording” — too generic, not buyer-intent
“CRM software” — too generic, not buyer-intent
“project management” — too generic, not buyer-intent
“marketing tools” — too generic, not buyer-intent
