Slack notifications
TrueCite sends rich Slack notifications using Slack’s Block Kit — inline metrics, color-coded status, and direct links to your dashboard. Available on Starter, Pro, and Enterprise plans.
Notification types
Scan complete
Sent after every scan finishes. Shows total scans run, overall mention rate, and top-performing engines. Includes a direct link to your scan results.
Mention share drop
Sent when your weekly MentionShare score falls below the previous week. Shows current vs last week score, percentage drop, and a link to investigate.
New competitor detected
Sent when TrueCite detects a new brand being recommended alongside yours in AI responses. Lists all new competitors found in the scan.
Weekly digest
Sent every Monday. Summarises your MentionShare trend for the past 7 days, top competitor, and total scans run.
Setup
Create an incoming webhook
Go to api.slack.com/messaging/webhooks → "Create your Slack app" → "Incoming Webhooks" → activate and add to workspace. Copy the webhook URL.
Paste the webhook URL
In TrueCite, go to Settings → Notifications. Scroll to the Slack section. Paste the webhook URL and click Save.
Test the connection
Click "Test Connection". TrueCite will send a test message to your Slack channel confirming the integration is active.
Preview notification types
Use the Preview buttons (Scan Complete, Mention Drop, Competitor Detected, Weekly Digest) to see sample messages before your next real event.
Point the webhook at a dedicated #ai-visibility channel rather than #general. Scan complete notifications fire after every scan, so a high-volume account could generate dozens per day.
Each user configures their own Slack webhook. There is no workspace-level webhook — each TrueCite account sends to whatever channel the webhook URL points to.
Controlling which notifications fire
Slack notifications respect the same on/off toggles in Settings → Notifications as email notifications. Disable "Scan complete" to stop receiving Slack alerts after every scan — only keep the ones that matter to you.
